On Friday, 5 December 2008, at 2:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will make a Christmas visit to the residents and staff of Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion.

At 8:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the 5th annual OUR DIVAS DO BROADWAY at Mile One Centre.

On Monday, 8 December 2008, at 2:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will make a Christmas visit to the residents and staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home.

At 7:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Christmas Reception at Government House for the Members and Senior Officers of the House of Assembly and other invited guests.

On Wednesday, 10 December 2008, at 2:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will make a Christmas visit to the residents and staff of Hoyles-Escasoni Complex.

Thursday, 11 December 2008

On Thursday, 11 December 2008, at 11:45 a.m., Her Honour will participate in a Ceremony at Pier 17, St. John’s Waterfront, to rename the new Marine Atlantic vessel. Following the ceremony, Their Honours will be guests of the vessel’s Captain and the Board of Directors of Marine Atlantic at a Luncheon onboard the Atlantic Vision.

At 8:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor, Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and Mrs. Crosbie will attend a Ceremony at the Drill Hall in Pleasantville to recognize the bravery of eight members of the Regiment during the Knights of Columbus Hostel fire of 1942. His Honour will present Certificates of Recognition to the two surviving members.

On Sunday, 21 December 2008, at 11:00 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Christmas service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Cochrane Street United Church. His Honour will read a Scripture lesson.

On Monday morning, 22 December 2008, The Lieutenant Governor will attend the funeral of Private Justin Peter Jones at Pius X Church in Baie Verte. Private Jones gave his life while serving in Afghanistan.
