On Wednesday, 6 May 2009, at 2:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Patron of the Newfoundland and Labrador Book Awards, will present the 2009 Writer's Alliance Book Awards at a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, their Honours will host a Reception for recipients and invited guests.

On Friday, 8 May 2009, at 7:00 p.m., Her Honour will be Celebrity Dance Judge for the Dancing with the Priests Gala at Mile One Stadium.

On Saturday, 9 May 2009, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour, Honorary Colonel of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, will attend the Change of Command Parade at which Lieutenant Colonel John MacDonald, C.D., will assume command of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, at the Gallipoli Armoury in Corner Brook.

On Friday, 15 May 2009, at 2:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Ceremony for invited guests at Government House as the Newfoundland Pony Society unveils a Canada Post stamp to recognize two endangered equine species, the Newfoundland Pony - a Provincial Heritage Animal, and the Canadian Horse.

On Thursday, 21 May 2009, at 6:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Opening Ceremonies of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association National Conference on Hearing Loss at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. His Honour will give the Opening Address.

On Friday, 22 May 2009, at 12 Noon, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Luncheon at Government House for visiting lecturers participating in the Symposium "Exploring Bob Bartlett: The Legacy of an Arctic Adventurer".

At 3:00 p.m., Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House in honour of the Bishop Field Senior Band.

On Saturday, 23 May 2009, at 2:00 p.m., Her Honour, Honorary Vice-President and Patron of the Girl Guides of Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador, will present Canada Cords to Girl Guides at a Ceremony in the Marine Institute. Immediately following the Ceremony, Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception at Government House for recipients and other invited guests.

On Tuesday, 26 May 2009, at 10:00 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Administration of the Oaths of Office to The Honourable J. Derek Green as Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador and to The Honourable David B. Orsborn as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador Trial Division, at the Court House on Duckworth Street.

At 3:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the afternoon session of the Spring 2009 Convocation of Memorial University of Newfoundland at the Arts and Culture Centre.

At 7:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Dinner for invited guests at Government House in honour of recently retired Chief Justice of Newfoundland and Labrador, The Honourable Clyde K. Wells.

On Wednesday, 27 May 2009, at 12:30 p.m., Their Honours will host a Luncheon at Government House for the recipients of honorary degrees at Memorial University’s Spring 2009 Convocation, and other invited guests.

From Thursday, 28 May, to Saturday, 31 May 2009, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will be in Iqaluit, Nunavut, to participate in the annual Conference of Lieutenant Governors and Commissioners.

On Friday, 29 May 2009, at 8:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the 9th annual LaFontaine Baldwin lecture at the Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit.
