On Wednesday, 1 July 2009, at 11:00 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the Ceremony, Mr. Crosbie will take the salute, at the Court House on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on Parade.

At 2:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Unveiling and Dedication Ceremony of the replica Beaumont Hamel Memorial Plaques at the Caribou Memorial in Bowring Park.

Following the Ceremony at the Caribou Memorial, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will hold a Reception at Government House for invited guests.

On Thursday, 2 July 2009, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour will present Long Service Awards to Regular Members, Civilian Members and Public Service Employees of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at a Ceremony at the RCMP Headquarters Building, White Hills.

On Monday, 6 July 2009, at 12 Noon, His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be the guest of The Australian Defence Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Patten-Richens; Commanding Officer HMAS Sydney, Captain (N) Peter Leavy; and Commanding Officer HMAS Ballarat, Commander Kevin Turner, at a Captain’s Lunch at the St John’s Port, piers 10 & 11.

At 6:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will be guests of Lieutenant Colonel Jamie Patten Richens, Captain (N) Peter Leavy and Commander Kevin Turner at an onboard Reception at the St John’s Port, piers 10 & 11.

On Wednesday, 8 July 2009, at 4:00 p.m, His Honour, Honorary Patron Festival 500 Sharing the Voices, and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House on the occasion of the 2009 Festival 500.

At 8:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Festival 500 Guest Ensemble, Club for Five in Concert, at the Arts and Culture Centre.

On Friday, 10 July 2009, at 2:30 p.m., Their Honours will attend a 100th Birthday celebration at St. Luke’s Homes in honour of Mrs. Ethel Mae Elliott.

On Saturday, 11 July 2009, at 11:30 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend The Arrival Ceremony for the Arctic Schooner Bowdoin at Bishop’s Beach, Brigus, as part of Celebrating Bartlett 2009.

At 12:30 p.m., Their Honours will attend a Lunch for Dignitaries at the home of Kevin & Michelle Sullivan at “The Walk”, Brigus, as part of Celebrating Bartlett 2009.

On Sunday, 12 July 2009, at 8:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Honorary Patron of Festival 500 Sharing the Voices, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Festival 500 Grande Finale Concert at Mile One Stadium.

On Wednesday, 22 July 2009, at 4:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House in honour in Doug Smith, Private Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, on the occasion of his retirement.

At 2:30 p.m., Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House to celebrate the launch of “Special Marine Areas in Newfoundland and Labrador”.

The Lieutenant Governor’s annual Garden Party will be held on the grounds of Government House on Wednesday, 29 July 2009, at 3:00 p.m. Every resident of Newfoundland and Labrador and any visitor to the Province is welcome to attend. If the weather is not suitable on 29 July, the Garden Party will be held on Thursday, 30 July.

On Sunday, 26 July 2009, at 10:30 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony, at the National War Memorial in St. John’s, on the occasion of the visit of the Russian Federation tall-ship Kruzenshtern.

At 2:00 p.m., Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host an Afternoon Tea at Government House for spouses of participants of the 2009 South Eastern US/Canadian Provinces Alliance Conference.

On Wednesday, 29 July 2009, at 3:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host the annual Garden Party on the grounds of Government House. Every resident of Newfoundland and Labrador and any visitor to the Province is welcome to attend. If the weather is not suitable on July 29th, the Garden Party will be held on Thursday, July 30th.
