Thursday, 1 July 2010

On Thursday, 1 July 2010, at 11:00 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Memorial Day Service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s. His Honour will lay the first wreath. Her Honour will lay a wreath on behalf of the Women’s Patriotic Association (1914-1918). After the Ceremony, The Lieutenant Governor will take the salute, at the Court House on Water Street, from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and other units of the Canadian Armed Forces and from members of the Royal Canadian Legion and other organizations on Parade.

Immediately following the ceremony at the War Memorial, the Royal Newfoundland Regiment will parade the old colours to Government House for a Laying-up of Colours Ceremony, followed by a Reception at Government House for invited guests.

On Tuesday, 6 July 2010, at 11:00 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will receive at Government House Mr. Hiroaki Isobe, Consul General of Japan at Montreal.

At 6:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Dinner for invited guests at Government House followed by the showing of the DVD “First Contact (Papua New Guinea)”.

On Sunday, 18 July 2010, at 10:30 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend a Church Service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Harbour Grace, to celebrate the Church’s 175th Anniversary. His Honour will read a scripture lesson.

On Wednesday, 21 July 2010, at 3:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host the annual Garden Party on the grounds of Government House. Every resident of Newfoundland and Labrador and any visitor to the Province is welcome to attend. If the weather is not suitable on July 21st, the Garden Party will be held on Thursday, July 22nd.

On Thursday, 22 July 2010, at 4:00 p.m., His Honour will invite the Honourable Brian Tobin to plant a tree on Government House grounds to commemorate his Premiership from 1996 – 2000.

Friday, 23 July 2010

On Friday, 23 July 2010, at 10:30 a.m., His Honour will present the Pride Person of the Year Award at a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests.

Tuesday, 27 July 2010

On Tuesday, 27 July 2010, at 1:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will be guests of the French Shore Historical Society at the Grand Opening of the French Shore Tapestry at the French Shore Interpretation Centre in Conche. His Honour will cut the ribbon to unveil the Tapestry.

On Thursday, 29 July 2010, at 7:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend a Gala Dinner at the Bruce II Sports Centre in the Town of Channel - Port aux Basques to celebrate the Town’s 65th Anniversary and Come Home Year 2010.
