On Friday, 1 October 2010, at 11:00 a.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Installation Ceremony of David L. Johnston as Canada’s 28th Governor General, in the Senate Chamber of the Parliament Buildings, Ottawa.

At 6:00 p.m., The Honourable J. Derek Green, Administrator of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, will participate in the presentation of Heritage Canada Foundation’s National Awards at a ceremony at the Majestic Theatre.

On Saturday, 2 October 2010, Their Honours will attend a Luncheon at Rideau Hall hosted by the new Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, and Dr. Sharon Johnston, for Lieutenant Governors and Territorial Commissioners.

On Friday, 8 October 2010, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will present Commissions, 30 year Service Bars and Exemplary Service Medals to Officers of the Division of Corrections and Community Services of the Department of Justice, at a Ceremony at The Rooms.  Following the Ceremony, at 3:30 p.m., the Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House.

On Tuesday, 12 October 2010, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will present Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) Lifetime Achievement Awards at a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for the recipients and other invited guests.

On Thursday, 14 October 2010, at 12:30 p.m., Their Honours will receive at Lunch at Government House Rear-Admiral D.C. Gardam, OMM, CD, Commander, Maritime Force Atlantic and Joint Task Force Atlantic, and other invited guests.

At 5:30 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception at Government House for participants of the Canadian Society for 18th Century Studies Conference.

On Friday, 15 October 2010, at 2:00 p.m., His Honour, Honorary Chair of the Provincial Council for The Duke of Edinburgh=s Award Program in Newfoundland and Labrador, and Mrs. Crosbie will attend a Ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland where His Honour will present Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Awards of Achievement.

At 7:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Dinner at Government House for the “Republic of Doyle” Cast and Crew.

On Tuesday, 19 October 2010, at 5:00 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will receive at Dinner at Government House The Honourable Jim Prentice, PC, MP, Canada’s Minister of the Environment, and other invited guests.

At 7:30 p.m., Their Honours will host a “Salon Concert” for invited guests at Government House featuring Debut Atlantic artists violinist Catherine Manoukian & pianist Susanne Rubert-Gordon.

On Thursday, 21 October 2010, at 3:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Fall 2010 Convocation of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Special Convocation for the Installation of Gary Kachanoski as President and Vice-Chancellor, at the Arts & Culture Centre.

At 7:00 p.m., Their Honours will be guests of the Chancellor of Memorial University and the Chair of the Board of Regents at a Gala Reception, at R. Gushue Hall, on the occasion of the Fall 2010 Convocation and Special Convocation installing Gary Kachanoski as President and Vice-Chancellor of Memorial University.

On Friday, 22 October 2010, at 12 Noon, The Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie Honours will host a Luncheon at Government House for the recipients of honorary degrees at Memorial University’s Fall 2010 Convocation, and other invited guests.

At 4:30 p.m., Their Honours will host at a Reception at Government House for participants of The Canadian Real Estate Association Fall Assembly.

On Monday, 25 October 2010, at 11:00 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, and her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will ly unveil ‘Taylor’s Pole of the North”, a unique hand-carved pole depicting icons from Newfoundland and Labrador, on Government House grounds. Following the Ceremony, Their Honours will host a Luncheon for invited guests at Government House in honour of Mr. Abiel Taylor, the hand-carver of this piece of art.

On Tuesday, 26 October 2010, at 4:30 p.m., His Honour, Honorary Patron of Last Post Fund, Newfoundland and Labrador Branch, will present the Last Post Fund Award of Merit to Major Robert Wilton at a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will host a Reception for invited guests.

On Friday, 29 October 2010, at 1:00 p.m., Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House to celebrate the Centennial Anniversary of St. John Ambulance.

At 8:00 p.m., the Lieutenant Governor and Mrs. Crosbie will attend the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra’s 20th Big Ticket Gala at the Arts and Culture Centre.
