Monday, 05 March 2012

On Monday, 05 March 2012 at 1:35 p.m., prior to the Opening of the House of Assembly, His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will inspect a Guard of Honour from the Canadian Forces and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary at the Confederation Building.

At 2:00 p.m., The Lieutenant Governor will deliver the Speech from the Throne to open the First Session of the 47th General Assembly of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.

Following the Throne Speech, His Honour and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception at Government House for the Vice-Regal Entourage and other invited guests.

On Tuesday, 06 March 2012 at 5:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend Memorial University President’s and Patrons’ Circle Concert at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall.

Friday, 09 March 2012

On Friday, 09 March 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Their Honours will be presented with the first set of Easter Seals at a Ceremony at Government House to ly launch the 2012 Campaign of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador. Following the Ceremony, Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests at Government House.

On Sunday, 11 March 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Their Honours will attend the Commonwealth Sunday Service at the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. His Honour will read the Queen’s Commonwealth Day Message.

Monday, 12 March 2012

On Monday, 12 March 2012 at 10:30 a.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Honorary Patron of The Canadian Red Cross, Newfoundland and Labrador Region and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will participate in a Ceremony at Government House to celebrate March as Red Cross Month. Following the Ceremony, Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests.

On Saturday, 17 March 2012 at 12:00 p.m., His Honour will receive, at Government House, executive members of the Benevolent Irish Society who will tender greetings on the occasion of the Festival of St. Patrick.

On Thursday, 22 March 2012 at 12:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Honorary Patron of the Winterset Award and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Luncheon at Government House for the 2011 Winterset Award finalists and other invited guests.

At 4:00 p.m., His Honour will present the 2011 Winterset Award at a Ceremony at Government House. Following the Ceremony, Their Honours will host a Reception for invited guests.

On Saturday, 24 March 2012 at 2:00 p.m., Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will attend the Opening Reception for Operation Homespun: The Next Generation and will present awards at the Devon House Craft Centre.

On Sunday, 25 March 2012 at 7:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend “A Service for the People of the Sea” at George Street United Church. His Honour will bring Greetings.

Monday, 26 March 2012

On Monday, 26 March 2012 at 3:30 p.m., His Honour the Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador and Her Honour Jane Furneaux Crosbie will host a Reception for a Delegation from the Sakhalin Government of the USSR and senior s from Exxon Mobil at Government House.

On Friday, 30 March 2012 at 12:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Re-opening of the Vera Perlin Centre at 350 Pennywell Road.

At 8:00 p.m., Their Honours will attend the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra – “Fantastic” at the Arts & Culture Centre.
